Really Jeff. What was I thinking? Going for a century ride and a serious mountain climb firsts in the same ride... After riding at a higher level for about a year; actually since April of this year.
Laughing. And thankful for my riding partner for this opportunity.
Not sure if you completed it or not - which is really irrelevant to the bigger picture... you knew how incredibly challenging both of these are together, yet you still tried.
And if you did complete it... congratulations on the largest scale.
The ride was 105 miles. I came to a point, 91.8 miles, where I was physically done. And had to be rescued. In riding up Pack Monadnock when the grade was 25% or better in two areas, standing up on the pedals I could not get the wheels to turn. I had to get off and walk.
I found my limits. I'm okay with that. I tried. And as you said, in important ways I succeeded.

This is a great discovery, even if it's painful.
Congratulations.

And if you didn't, ditto.
