Another bonding ride

A quick 20 miles... Not so quickly completed.  Laura's bike, my Pan Mass Challenge bike, is perfectly balanced. Smooth riding. Silent. A beautiful machine.

As I was riding today I passed two men reciting the Our Father as they walked their dog. Father and Son perhaps, the older gentleman waved.

It starts

Laura's bike and I have been acquainted for a few months now but now with the Pan Mass Challenge only about 10 weeks away, we will enter into a very intimate relationship between bike and rider.  She will be my sole ride until after the event.  Only by forming a team will we finish.

A Very Nice Young Man

Last night at 9:45 my youngest announced her beau was feeling a bit low and could I drive her over for a hug. I was on deck for picking up the middle daughter at the high school at 10:30 after play practice so I said sure and off we went.  To be honest this was not the first time the request for a quick beau visit had been made and granted.  He lives about 4 miles from us.

So we arrive and the young man presents me with these Mother's Day presents.  And thanks me for being a great mom. I was so touched.

Dead Serious

I have raised thousands of dollars towards eradicating cancer.  Have rode in six Boston Brain Tumor Rides.  Will ride in my first PMC this August, God willing. Was a Girl Scout leader for five years. Taught Religious Education for six years, and counting. I am a Rock Star as a freight broker; I truly love my job. I have a PhD. Have cycled thousands of miles with no horizon in sight.  Authored a book.

But the best actionable 24/7 is being a mom. And then, second is being an aunt.

A wider view

Some times you have to take a step back to take in life's wider view.
