We take a moment

The next three pre work mornings will be spent on a back porch with two friends (dogs). Sipping coffee. Listening to the birds. Trying to read a book between patting sessions. Trying not to get my clothes completely doggified. "No Frank, stay away from me with those wet paws."

Exercise? We have to get creative. Afternoon chasing and fetching a ball. I laugh and I wonder what the neighbors think watching an old lady playing tag with the two loves.

I had to laugh.

Out for a ride at 4:45 this morning. Four forty-five to six fifteen in the morning is the only block of time open in my day available for exercise.

Really get fit today and enjoy the benefits forever? As I'm so apt to mimic, "I don't think so Tim." It's exercise throughout your life to enjoy the benefits forever. It's not a one time gig. It's a full life commitment.

Friend, jeff noel, said a few days ago via social media, "Don't tell me, I make it look easy." Or that fitness comes easy to him.

Being fit takes work, desire, vision and commitment. There are no easy get it over now, coast till the end short cuts. It's work plain and simple. Some days are joyous. Many a slog.

Footing

Vacation. Home. The Girls. Work. Cycling(me). They all take time. Pushing and bumping to be number one. There is satisfaction, and pain with each. Love and laughter trump with the girls.

Out for a walk

I headed out with my headphones plugged in but thought why... Why isolate myself from the sounds that add to the magic of this place. The people.

The Apple Doesn't Fall Far

Maddy's tree has apples! A tree started as a seed when she was in kindergarten. Now a senior in high school, and as the tree fruits, so does the young adult.

Time

The only time to reliably schedule a ride is 5 AM. That gives us a 90 minute window for riding. We have been averaging about 22 miles while enjoying the sunrise. Cooler air temperatures. Birds singing. No traffic.

No Pictures

This morning I was out riding at 5. It was a gift. Listened to the birds. Saw a Baltimore Oriole and two rabbits along with a host of the regulars. Greeted at my return by Cooper. Didn't stop to photograph the sunrise. Just drank it all in, in real time. Days don't start any better.
