Trust

He's just a puppy; six months old. A gentle and trusting soul. Who recognizes my car as I drive up to the house. And tries very hard not to jump up or mouth my hand while his wagging tail steers him about the kitchen.

He knows when he calms down from the excitement of my arrival that I will get down on his level. To pat him and talk with him. To have gentle moments.

But really the big ah-ha is: Who gets more out of these visits?

He's a love but, by the size of his paws, he is going to be a very BIG love when he is finished growing.
It is wonderful to share the love for each other.

The guesstimate is he will weigh in at 90 lbs when he is through growing. But he will be as gentle as a lamb.
