Ground Hog Day; despite Phil predicting an early Spring, I truly believe that there is six more weeks of winter weather. If we are lucky. For there was that one year it snowed in May. Of course, I was living in upstate New York then, but it's all the northeast after all. Right about now, the seeds catalogs arrive and I get flashes of garden grandeur.
Summer battles waged over beans and beets are not pleasant memories. I do wish the ground hog would seek out his shadow and dinner among the trees across the street, and not in my tiny patch of horticultural heaven.
