The worm gear assembly and grease arrived in Monday's mail. The first attempt at reassembly resulted in 2 extra screws; a pair. The second time -- no extra parts. It's true what they say on ehow.com: It is easy to take apart a kitchen aid mixer. And it's almost just as easy putting it back together.
The test: The best ever apple crisp, with our very own dark maple syrup. Yummy... and very satisfying. And the mixer worked beautifully.

What a fine way to celebrate - apple crisp.
Sweet! On multiple fronts, nice job sis.
And if the stove acts up... I know how to open that up as well...
Now I know who to call when I have a kitchen appliance crisis!
