Last night's concert was fantastic, but also bittersweet. As things look now she won't be playing the flute next year. But life isn't black and white. I've heard some tell there are 50 shades of gray. I think there might be more.
It's the flutist who is lying down her instrument. It is her choice not mine.
The other night at the school's end of year open house each parent had the opportunity to answer the question, "What is the toughest part about being a parent?" I answered, loving children so much you let them make their own choices. Even though it is not what I would want them to do. Or how I would approach an opportunity. I have learned so much that way, thank you.
So I will sit back and learn from this choice as well.
